There is a lot going on right now, whether you are aware of it all or not.
The world is a busy place, filled with people, animals, plants, and machines doing things.
We relate to this world through our senses.
Every now moment we are receiving data from the outside world that we can see, hear, touch, smell, and taste.
However, we typically aren’t fully aware of what our senses are bringing in because of what is going on internally.

Inside we have thoughts, emotions, actions, and choices also happening every now moment.
It is our thoughts where we can get lost and ignore what is happening presently.
We have the capacity to imagine past and future nows in our thoughts which is what causes us to ignore the present.
The last aspect of what is going on now is from beyond. This is the true you, spirit, and is always communicating to your body through feeling.
The language of feeling, commonly referred to as intuition, is overlooked because it is dismissed by our thoughts.
Is it any wonder the world is in the predicament it is in knowing that most people are not present with their thoughts most of the time?
What, then, can we do about the disconnect we experience from being here and now?

Truthful answers are always simple. They aren’t always easy to implement.
The simple truth is that we can choose to be here and now whenever we desire to be.
The struggle that we experience is that we forget that we have this option. There are subconscious processes happening every moment that shift our attention from the present to the thoughts.
We do have the power to shift that focus. It does take time and effort, but the results are phenomenal.
We can create new programs and habits that remind us of the choice to be present while we remove programs that keep us stuck in the past/future thinking loops.
You can go from consistently experiencing rage on the road to being completely peaceful.
So, what are some of the habits we can create to help us remain present?
- Meditate
- Practice gratitude
- Check in with your senses
- Stretch and exercise regularly
- Conscious breathing exercises
- Focus on the one task you are doing
- Take a break from social media and tech
- Go for a mindful walk and observe your surroundings
- Accept the way things are instead of thinking they should be different
- Journal – incorporate every aspect of the experience you are writing about
- Be mindful of the things you do every day like eating, brushing your teeth, getting ready for bed

The last one on the list is the easiest one to leverage because it doesn’t take any extra time. If your schedule is filled with busy-ness then trying to incorporate anything new can easily overwhelm and lead to you giving up and staying stuck in the endless loop of past/present thinking.
If you would like some help in coming up with ways you can bring mindfulness into your everyday life, we have written a short guide listing out 100 activities you can apply this to. You can get it by going to https://lorielandarcturus.com/100-mindful-practices/
It’s also helpful to be around people that are working towards being more mindful. Fortunately, there is a community of such people, and you can find out about it in the book mentioned above. We hope you take the time to read and join us on the mission to become more mindful and present in the here and now.
